Trust and Care Rwanda (TCR) has facilitated access to higher education for 50 students through an interest-free university loan program with a flexible repayment plan.
This initiative targets students who did not secure government scholarships but demonstrate academic potential and ambition. The program has enabled these students to pursue tertiary education and other higher learning opportunities, thereby removing financial barriers and supporting their successful transition into universities and professional pathways.
Our University Loan Program addresses a critical gap in Rwanda's higher education landscape by providing financial support to academically talented students who have completed secondary education but lack the resources to pursue university studies.
Each year, thousands of qualified students across Rwanda are unable to access higher education due to financial constraints. While government scholarships support many students, there remains a significant number of academically promising individuals who fall just outside the eligibility criteria or come from families that cannot afford university fees.
Our program specifically targets these students – those who have demonstrated academic potential and ambition but face financial barriers. By providing interest-free loans with flexible repayment terms, we ensure that financial limitations do not prevent talented young Rwandans from achieving their educational and professional aspirations.
Our university loan program is designed to be accessible, sustainable, and transformative.
All loans are provided at 0% interest, eliminating the financial burden of loan repayment that often discourages students from pursuing higher education.
Repayment begins only after graduation, with terms tailored to each graduate's employment situation. This ensures graduates can establish themselves before beginning repayments.
Beyond financial assistance, we provide academic mentoring, career guidance, and professional development opportunities to ensure student success.
