Poultry Farming Program - Trust and Care Rwanda

Poultry Farming Initiatives

The program equips participants with skills in poultry management, animal health, feed optimization, and business operations, ensuring they can run resilient and commercially viable farms.

Beyond farm-level support, the initiative incorporates supply chain value development and market system strengthening. Beneficiaries are connected to reliable input suppliers, veterinary services, and extension support, while TCR facilitates linkages with local markets to ensure access to buyers for eggs, meat, and other poultry products.

About Poultry Farming Initiative

This approach not only enhances income generation and economic empowerment for women but also contributes to the development of a sustainable, market-oriented poultry value chain, strengthening local economies and creating opportunities for replication and scaling.

Our Poultry Farming Program addresses the dual challenge of women's economic empowerment and sustainable agriculture development in Rwanda. By focusing on poultry farming – a sector with relatively low entry barriers and high potential returns – we create accessible pathways for women to establish income-generating enterprises.

The program recognizes that successful poultry farming requires more than just providing chickens. It requires comprehensive support across the entire value chain, from production to marketing. Our holistic approach ensures that women farmers have the knowledge, resources, and market connections needed to build sustainable businesses.
